Cowgirl Hall of Fame

Yeah, catfish fingers and chili…pure Southern culinary delight. The South does it right with food like this and you can only get good stuff like this down there. Or New York City. You got it, you can get these good Southern eats from the Cowgirl Hall of Fame near the Village and while I’ll admit the real deal from the South is obviously better, these dishes definitely are as good as you’re gonna get in NYC. I had the catfish fingers…they were fried in a nice cornmeal batter and the jalapeno tartar sauce was actually really good. Quality fries too. My cousin Robin had the chili and she said it was pretty tasty too.
The decor in CgHOF was pretty cool too; lots of old pictures of rodeos, cowboys and of course cowgirls and lots of bulls’ horns and horseshoes adorned the walls. Even if the owner isn’t a Southern native they definitely went out of their to express their admiration of it. And that’s why I like New York: it doesn’t all have to be about pizza and delis; you can get plenty of other regional food that well represents where they’re coming from.
